Established in 2016, Jopet has grown from a diesel-fitting and local plant-hire operator into an integrated mining and civil services group — combining equipment hire, authorised dealership, parts supply and technical services under a single, experienced management team.
We remain a family business. Decisions are made by the people accountable for them, relationships are valued above contracts, and we take a long-term view — underpinned by more than 15 years of combined experience across mining, civil construction, finance and international logistics.
Jopet Group is now proudly owned by the Chynoweth Group of Companies — the family's parent group, underpinning our long-term commitment to Papua New Guinea and Australia.

Jopet began in 2016 as a diesel-fitting business founded by Pete and his wife Jodie — the name "Jopet" a blend of their own. Plant hire followed in 2018 and, through no shortage of challenges, the fleet grew steadily. By 2023 that hard-won experience underpinned a bigger ambition — expanding into Papua New Guinea. The first directors' trip came that year, the first machine was shipped across in 2024, and today Jopet Group operates a fleet of 70+ machines with a team of 25+ across Australia and PNG, proudly employing PNG nationals as part of our long-term commitment to the country.
